EMMANUEL HOMESTEAD UPDATE REPORT 2025

INTRODUCTION

This quarter focused on:

EDUCATION & HEALTH SUPPORT

  • Schools closed in early December.

  • All children sat for year-end exams; seven passed Grade 7 and transitioned to high school.

  • All school fees were paid.

  • Inflation stabilized.

  • A high school student earned two accolades: in Geography and as a school role model.

LIFE SKILLS DEVELOPMENT

  • Children engaged in daily chores and animal care (chickens, goats, pigs).

  • Emphasis placed on horticulture and animal husbandry.

SUSTAINABLE PROJECTS

Piggery

  • Five sows serviced; one expected to farrow in January 2025.

  • Piglets are healthy; feed and medication were provided.

Goats & Sheep

  • Herd growing steadily; kids and lambs are in good condition.

Broilers

  • Increased to 400 birds; two batches sold during Christmas.

  • Financial constraints limited project expansion.

Road Runners

  • 190 chickens on site; 30 slaughtered during the quarter.

  • Three hens incubating eggs (~10 eggs each).

  • Feed supplementation ensured good health.

Crop Farming

  • Maize planted using conservation farming methods.

  • Moisture stress affected crops, but recent rains revived new plantings.

Vegetable Production

  • Winter vegetables harvested successfully.

CHILDREN & YOUTH MINISTRY

  • Monthly meetings held with active participation.

  • Youth advisors guided children in biblical teachings and respect for parents.

EVANGELISM

  • Outreach held in Mufakose (Harare) with strong attendance and spiritual impact.

LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT

  • Leadership meeting held with lay leaders.

  • Vision casting and strategic planning took place.

  • A refreshing and impactful time in the Lord's presence.

PARTNERSHIPS

  • Continued collaboration with Change A Life Foundation.

  • Focus on childcare, project sustainability, and stakeholder engagement.

FOSTER PARENTING

  • Children involved in evangelism and entrepreneurial projects.

  • Focus on self-reliance amid economic hardship.

  • Counseling and psychosocial support provided.

  • Increased demand for educational and food support due to national drought.

CHURCH CONSTRUCTION

  • Halfway home plastered at Chikoto.

  • Housing units completed; commissioning planned for next quarter.

COORDINATION

CHALLENGES

  • Ongoing hyperinflation impacting prices.

  • Inadequate funds affecting the foster program.
